I teach beginning and advanced Ceramics at Skyline High School in Oakland. I love being able to bring my background and knowledge of the material to students. Since it is a medium that is directly tied to the earth itself, they are able to explore art (and the world around us) in new ways through clay.
I also feel that creating art through integrated learning is an amazing way for students to work through their own views around the issues facing us as a society and our planet. I am excited to really tie these two things together with this project that is specifically focused on the integration of ecology and artmaking.
